COOKIE POLICY

Last updated: 28 September 2026

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep, and which your browser hands back on your next visit. It is how this site remembers the language you are reading in, whether you have already answered the cookie question, and which link brought you here.

Some cookies are set by us. Others are set by another company whose script runs on the page, and those are listed below under that company's name.

The four categories

We sort every cookie into one of the four categories below, the same four the banner and the preference centre use. Necessary cookies are always on, because the site does not work without them. The other three need your consent: if you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we set nothing in those three until you agree; elsewhere they run until you refuse, and you can refuse at any time.

Necessary

Always on

These remember the cookie choice you make here and the language you are reading in. They also keep our forms honest: they check that a submission came from a real person on a real page, and they block abuse. The site does not work without them, so they cannot be turned off.

Functional

Needs your consent

With this on, videos embedded from YouTube load straight into the page, and YouTube can set its own cookies on your device when you play one. With it off, we show a placeholder instead and nothing loads until you ask for it.

Performance

Needs your consent

We set a cookie called sa_attrib that remembers which link, ad or site sent you here. It lasts 90 days. If you later give us your email, on a form or when you sign up, we attach that origin to your record, and we use it to decide who our team contacts first. The cookie also carries a random id that we pass to skyanalyst.app as the aid parameter when you follow a link to the app, so both sites can recognize the same visit. This is not anonymous and it is not only counted in totals. Turning Targeting off does not turn this off: this is the switch that controls it.

Targeting

Needs your consent

This turns on the Meta Pixel. It tells Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram, which pages you visited on this site and whether you filled in a form. Meta uses that to build an interest profile tied to your Meta account and to show you our ads on Facebook, Instagram and other sites. With this off, the pixel never loads and nothing is sent to Meta.

Every cookie on this site

This table is generated from the same list of cookies the banner, the preference centre and our server read, so it cannot fall behind the code.

NameSet byCategoryLifetimeWhat it does
NEXT_LOCALESkyAnalystfirst-partyNecessaryAlways on365 daysRemembers the language you chose to read in. Without it, every page you open works the language out again and can move you off the page you asked for.
sa_consentSkyAnalystfirst-partyNecessaryAlways on365 daysStores the cookie choice you made on this site, with the date it was made, so that refusing is remembered instead of being asked again on every page.
sa_regionSkyAnalystfirst-partyNecessaryAlways on24 hoursHolds the coarse country our server worked out from your request, which is what decides whether we must ask before setting anything or you can refuse afterwards. It stores no address and no precise location.
sa_attribSkyAnalystfirst-partyPerformanceNeeds your consent90 daysRecords which link or site sent you here, for 90 days. If you later give us your email, that origin is attached to your record, and the random id in this cookie is passed to skyanalyst.app as the aid parameter so both sites can recognize the same visit. It sits under Performance, so turning Targeting off does not turn it off.
sa_growth_accessSkyAnalystfirst-partyNecessaryAlways on180 daysHolds the password unlock for our internal growth, advertising and investor pages. It carries no identifier and does nothing on the public site.
_fbpMeta Platforms, Inc.third-partyTargetingNeeds your consent90 daysThe Meta browser identifier, written by the Meta pixel script and not by our code. It lets Meta recognize your browser so we can show you our ads on Facebook and Instagram.
_fbcMeta Platforms, Inc.third-partyTargetingNeeds your consent90 daysStores the click identifier from the Meta ad you arrived on, and is sent back to Meta so that visit can be matched to that ad.

How to change your choice

You can change your answer whenever you like. The Manage preferences link in the footer of every page opens the same controls the banner shows, without taking you away from the page you are reading. Those same controls have their own page at /en/preferences.

We keep your answer for twelve months and then ask again. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, our server reads it as a refusal of advertising and measurement cookies and applies it before the page loads, so you do not have to answer at all.

Turning advertising off takes effect when the page reloads. We reload it for you as soon as you save, so nothing more goes to Meta after that.

Your browser controls

If you would rather not use our controls, every current browser can block or delete cookies from its own settings, and can do it for this site alone. Note that blocking the necessary ones breaks parts of the site, including the part that remembers you refused the rest. Where that setting lives differs from one browser to the next, so look in your browser help menu.

What we do with this data

What we do with the data these cookies produce, who receives it and how to ask us to delete it are all in our Privacy Policy.
